What Is Web 2.0?

After my last email, I have many subscribers who ask me what is web 2.0 and what is Social websites.

Here’s an excellent video that explain what Web 2.0 is all about.

And here’s the video that explain what is Social Bookmarking websites.

To break it up into simple terms, Social Bookmarking website is about sharing the bookmarks in your browser with the public.

Can’t remember what’s a bookmark? Below is an example of my personal bookmark in my firefox browser.

So in Social Bookmarking, you are allow to post your favorite bookmark in the social bookmarking websites like Digg, Del.icio.us, Simpy etc.

Here’s an example of my account in Del.icio.us. This is where I post my favorite bookmarks.

Beside Social Bookmarking, there is a new service call- Social News website.

Social News Website is similar to Social Bookmarking, the only exception is that you can vote for your bookmark or news.

If you post good information news, people will vote for it. But before people vote for your news, they would need to visit your website to read about it.

Because of this, Social News Website is a fantastic way to drive traffic to your blog.

Here’s an example of my personal account in PlugIM.

Everytime you have a new post, just submit your blog post to the various Social news website. People will click on your link and read your post and if they like it, they will vote for you. The more vote you receive, the more traffic you will generate.

That’s it, it’s this simple. In fact, if you have been reading this blog (MLMBlogExpert.com), you know that this blog is less than 2 months ago as of now. And to generate hundreds of visitors per day within 60 days is a great achievement.

I am definitely satisfy with it and take into consideration that I only use Social Bookmarking and Social News strategies.

Here’s the list of Social news websites that I use:

1. PlugIM
2. Digg
3. MarkTD
4. Netscape

It took me about 30-45 minutes to submit 1 post from my blog and with the Web2Submitter software that I am currently using, submission is a breeze. 10 minutes is all I need to finish all the submission.
