Yes I can remember the first card I bought . It was a new 1956 Ford Mainline stick shift. The salesman had been a friend of the family for many years. Back then there wasn’t much mark up on cars. He told me that he would give me the best
deal in town. I had already made up my mind that I wanted a Ford. I wanted the one that was two doors and had two tone paint cream and light green. And of course I wanted fender skirts which I would have to pay extra for. Well Mister White
said he would throw them in for no cost and have the painted. We went in to do the paper work and the car came to $3,678.51. I told Mister White that I didn’t want my payments to be over $40.00 a month and for no more than 3 years.
He worked with the paper work for over a hour and then took it into the Manager Of New Car Sales and he was gone for
so long I didn’t think they were going to approve the paperwork. At last Mr. White came back with a big smile on his face.
He sat down and said this is what we can do. I can let you have the car and you can have the 3 year payment plan, but
it is going to cost you $43.63 a month. We are going to give you top dollar on your trade. I signed the paperwork and I
waited about an hour for them to service the car. I was so proud of that car. I drove it for 2 1/2 years and I got orders
to go to German. I had joined the Air Force about six month after I got the car. Talk about sick I really could stand put-ing a for sale sign on it. It sold with in 48 hours. It was funny because I got more than I payed for it new….

Hi Jaz, well done and you should be proud of your achievements. I’m a bit older, perhaps I could be your grandfather. I also look back at past steps in my life
to motivate me and propel me forward to the next challenge. I never forget when we got married, when our first child was born, our first vegie patch, my first solo in an aircraft, our first business, becoming president of a Rotary Club, the day we climbed Mt.Bogong’s infamous Staircase, the day my students won the solar car race, the day we made our first wooden cow and so many more precious moments. This is not to brag, but to entice other readers to look at their past life and use the many achievements, no matter how small or big, to get motivated, take positive action and move forward another step.
