Today’s post will be pretty long as I have 2 things to share with you.

Few days ago, I receive an email from Mary Ann and this is what she said:

For a quite time I’ve been recieving a lot of emails from you (Jaz Lai). However I didn’t give any focus about all those stuffs for I don’t have the interests to read them at all.

Honestly you hit me by what you have mentioned in your last message…

Indeed I have been losing focus in my life that whatever I read nor do. It seemed doesn’t register in my mind. So frustrating indeed in my part and I was really no moving in any direction.

To make it short I deleted all unwanted emails from my inbox.

Just now I came to read again from you and gosh! you struck me with the truthfulness of your message.

Well I am writing you finally with the hope that you can help me make up my mind and do something to make me more productive as I intend to change with of course the need to be guided.

Hope to hear a personal message from you soon.

Let’s talk about being more productive today.

Now, what is most important is to do what was taught in the report.

Don’t just learn it, do it.

Most people will take their time to learn, learn and learn.

Read, read and read.

Research, research and research.

When it comes to taking action. They fall short of actually doing it.

But what you need to know is that when you are actually doing it, you are in fact learning.

When you take action, you will realized that you are actually learning MORE compared to just reading about it.

Remember this :

Ready, Fire, Aim

Read up the basics of getting started, do it, then re-adjust or fine tune it and move on again.

Don’t fall into the trick of just learning.

Learning will not get you anywhere, doing it will get you somewhere. It may not get you the result you are looking for but it will get you a result.

I know you can do it.

    Hi Jaz,

    What you said about learning vs doing is so true. There are so many people who spend all day learning, learning and learning some more, yet they refuse to attempt to APPLY something that they have learned.

    TRUE learning consist of four types of knowledge acquisition. They are as follows:

    1. Learned knowledge - This is reading books, listening to audios, going to seminars, etc.

    2. Activity knowledge - This is where you try out something that you have learned. You will get a result. It will either be the result you wanted or a different result.

    You should be going back and forth between learned knowledge and activity knowledge until you eventually come across the other two.

    3. Modeling knowledge - You meet someone who is doing what you want to do. They take the time to work with you to show you exactly how they do it. You model them until you are able to do it as well as if not better than they can.

    4. Teaching knowledge - This is the ultimate form of knowledge. This is where you have to teach it to someone else. Anyone that has ever taught something before can tell you, the teacher learns the most out of everyone!
