46 - List Building - Use Words To Build Big Responsive ListWords, as you know, can be very powerful and influential. However, in this instance, I am not referring to the persuasive effect of words, I am more describing the use of words to drive additional traffic to your website or squeeze page.

Any webpage can never be effective in achieving anything if it has no traffic. Unless you and your webpage are a hermit, you will want to attract visitors. I am not talking about any old visitor either, I am referring to people who have an interest in what you have to offer.

The most powerful and cost effective way of attracting visitors to your site is to write and distribute articles. Now before you say, “I cannot write” and dismiss the idea, I suggest you consider the benefits of applying this technique before you rule it out of hand.

When you write an article and distribute it to the various article directories, you will find that you begin to get traffic immediately. The interesting point is that this traffic is very targeted, simply because these people have chosen to read your article and beyond your article, they have clicked on a link at the end of the article to learn more.

As a consequence, the level of interest is high and if you set up a web page or squeeze page that is related and relevant to your article then you will find that you will start to convert visitors to subscribers very quickly and at a high rate. Additionally, this list will be very responsive due to the high level of interest.

Beyond the article directories themselves, your article also gets distributed to other websites and blogs. Everyday, webmasters go to various article directories to find quality content for their sites. Your article will now appear on other websites with related content opening up another avenue of traffic for your site.

Articles will also give you the ability to rank high in the search engines. When you post an article, you can put the desired link text in your bio box pointing back to your site. This will help you to target that keyword.

With some keyword research, you can go after keywords that have less competition and as a consequence rank high for that keyword and get additional highly targeted traffic from the search engines.

So you may be thinking, as mentioned, that you are not a good writer. The good news is that you can outsource this job and get people to write for you. On the other hand, you can do it yourself and it is not that hard. Let me give you an example, go to your favorite search engine, type in a keyword, let’s use “golf”, for example, and specifically, the new Callaway Driver.

To go a step further, type in “Callaway Driver Reviews” and see what others are saying, then start to write about the new club in your own words. Once you have finished your article, set up a squeeze page on how to improve your driving distance by ten yards.

People will read your article who are interested in drivers, then click on your link within your resource box. Make your links stand out - and just like your title, evoke emotion and curiosity.

Since these folks want the biggest and best driver, they obviously want to improve their game, so they will sign up for your list and before you know it, you will be making lots of money.

By the way, it is far easier to write on a subject that you are interested in and you can apply the above example in any market.

    Hi Jaz,
    Love your mlm blog. Jaz even if people think they can’t write
    an article or two, they can simply record there thoughts on
    there given subject, and then have them edited and transcribed
    into an article, or even a free report, if it is warranted.
