Have you ever wondered what was the most important part of a squeeze page If you have, I’m sure you’ve contemplated several different areas you may have worked hard on, but the truth is if you don’t have a great headline, the rest of your page is going to suffer. Seriously, that might have been the area you spent the least amount of time on and it could be the biggest reason your page doesn’t become profitable.
It’s just like when you go shopping and you see a flashy sales sign, but if it doesn’t say Buy two get one free, you will move on to something else in the store or to another store all together. Same thing happens when your squeeze page lands in front of someone else on the internet. If they aren’t interested, they aren’t reading another sentence the rest of the way down. They may do the old scroll down to the bottom of the page before they move on, but thats about it.
The objective here is to bring people to you and get that Opt-in lead for the long term. So you want something that is going to say, I am going to make you salivate before your done reading this! However, unless you are this great copy writer, taking the time to do this can become quite frustrating. Fortunately for us there are softwares out there where you can just type in a few keywords and it will create several different titles for you that are not only good, but will keep your readers continuing down the page. If that doesn’t work then find a copywriter to do it for you.
The idea is that once you have found a way to produce headlines, you will want to take them and test each one to find out which will grab your full attention. Unless of course, you just became the master writer in the last five minutes, take out two of them at a time and place them each on a squeeze page with everything but the title the same. Take a good hard look and see which page actually grabs your attention. You have to do this as unbiased opinion before you place them on the pages. If you already like one better, it will grab your eyes quicker then the other ones.
Once you figure out which squeeze page headline you want to use, see how the market takes a liking to it and you’ll get a better idea of how well it’s going to do. The key is to get at least 500 views or even as many as a thousand before you decide if the conversion rate is satisfactory to what you were projecting. To get a true opinion, you can go to places like Google Analytics and sign up for free to get a better feel for those conversions. If you have never used G.A. before, they have all the instructions within their website.
When you first started doing this, you didn’t think about there being this much involved in the title did you Don’t worry, many people are unfamiliar with what it takes to make the perfect squeeze page, which is why we are writing this right now. Last but not least, you better have the right font size for your headline or everything we’ve already discussed is pointless. Something that is in constant view of the potential prospect ranging around 650-750 in width.
Next time you start working on your squeeze page, think about when you read news on the internet. Think about the things that capture your attention in a second, making you click a link to read about it. Then think about business articles that do the same thing, mix them together and you’ll come up with a great headline to attract others growing your conversion rate for your Opt-in leads.
