image How do you increase your sponsoring rate? By increasing your people skills. Learning to deal with people and getting along with them is the key towards MLM success.

Building a network marketing business online is good, but you must never neglect the personal touch when it comes to building a long term business because that is the glue that keeps people together.

Here are a couple of tips on improving your people skills:

(1) When meeting a stranger for the first time, it ALWAYS helps to remember their name correctly. People have a fetish for their own name and would not hesitate to correct people who get their name wrong. When you are interacting in a party, a good way to remember names is to repeat their name at least twice. After they introduce themselves, repeat it once and ask them how they spell it. You will also increase your chances of remembering their name if you associate their name with their look (e.g. Lean ‘Jean’)

(2) When you shake someone’s hand, shake it with CONFIDENCE. Don’t give them a limp fish or a crushing grip. The limp fish shows a lack of confidence while the crushing grip shows that you are an aggressive person.

(3) When you look into someone’s eyes for the first time, give them a moment’s glance and acknowledge them. Don’t ever look away quickly because it gives the new person an impression that he or she is not important. Look into their eyes for a second or two and you will look more sincere.

(4) Relating to a person’s job is very important. Ask relevant questions and never insult their profession with flippant comments (like asking an astronaut - how do you pee in outer space… they probably get that all the time). For example, when someone introduces themselves as a writer, by answering, “Fiction or non-fiction?” it gives them the impression that you respect their career by asking a relevant question and they will open up to you better. Do some research on people’s careers and it will help you a lot.

These simple tips will help you with your MLM business. You will never know that your next meeting with a stranger could be your next super downline that will bring you massive business.
