Network marketing success is not about being a sales business, it is more about the relationship you have with people you are doing business with. Most network marketing companies do not cover any of the different personality types you will be prospecting.
People might come from all different walks of life, but they all have personality traits that fall into groups and patterns. Learning how to deal with different peoples personalities will put them at ease and give you a better advantage to recruit the people you are looking for.
It is to your best interests to understand yourself, and what patterns of personality and thinking you fall into. This helps you to be a better communicator when talking with others. Communication is everything. All successful network marketers realize the true value that clear and open communication within business has provided them with, It is a powerful tool in anyones life.
When you know the different personality groups, you can get a much better feel for who it is you are prospecting. Because so much of the prospecting is long distance and done on the Internet, being keyed into what personality type may seem difficult at first. But over time and with some practice, you are able to pick this up.
Knowing where a prospects hot button is, then feeding into this will help you to turn those leads into your downline so much easier. Also, knowing what turns your prospect off to a deal helps you to avoid going on too much about it.
As an example, let’s cover one personality type. We will refer to this group as extrovert A.
Extrovert A types are direct and open, they like to talk a lot. In fact, they enjoy talking too much. They are the ones you see at a party and have a hard time shutting up. In conversation, a type A will tend to be that person how seems to think he or she knows everything there is to know. They will go into great detail telling you about it all. They like to have fun and want to be in the middle of all of the action.
Extrovert A types have problems zeroing in on one task at a time. They are very good at seeing the larger picture, but do not have time for the finer details. It is almost as if A types all had attention deficit disorder.
More Extrovert A types join network marketing companies than any other personality type. When prospecting an A, let them talk their hearts out. Listen and stay focused. Give this the time it takes you to go through your tasks with them.

Many large businesses use this resource to assess candidates for job placement.
