image People who get involved in MLM are often motivated by their desires. However, not many people succeed in MLM.

Is it because of a lack of motivation?

Well, the honest answer is yes and no!

If you want success in MLM, you have to put in a lot of effort. You need desire to convict others that you are truly serious about your business.

A lack of motivation is one of the root causes of failure but you have to be realistic about the other side of the coin as well…

There are a lot of people out there who DO have the desire to succeed, so much that it even blinds them to the obvious fact that what they are doing isn’t working at all! Cold calling, pestering ‘untargeted’ friends and relatives, hard selling and arm twisting are all obsolete prospecting techniques that give MLM a bad name.

And you know what the sad part is? Because they listen too much to their upline. When the blind leads the blind, both will fall into the ditch!

Network marketers always quote this - the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results. However they use this quote to try and convince people to join their MLM but they don’t use it on themselves (unfortunately).

Using obsolete prospecting techniques is like fishing without a bait or driving your car without gas (I wonder where the motivation factor affects the two situations above!)

Using the Internet to generate leads and posturing yourself as a leader are just the starting point towards building an MLM business. You must learn to invest in yourself by learning how to drive traffic, build relationships on the Internet and position yourself as someone who is a cut above the rest.

Remember, it is not about doing your best in MLM… it is about doing whatever it takes! Once you realize the subtle difference between these two lines, you will be one step closer towards your success in network marketing.
