Forum marketing is most likely one of the greatest form of non advertising, advertising you will ever discover.

Are you confused? Let me explain.

Forums, especially those popular ones, can bring you a lot of sales if you do it right. But you need to be patient because you can’t just dive right into.

What exactly are forums?

Forums are places where lots of people hang out and there are forums for just about every niche there are out there. Just type in the word “Forum” in Google and you will get over 1 billion results.

Yes, you heard me correctly, it’s 1 billion.

So there is definitely a forum for every niche there is out there. Most forums are for members only. Meaning, in order to take part in the forum discussion, you have to sign up.

But don’t worry, most of them are free.

Once you are in, don’t make the same mistake that most newbies make.

Most people, when they join a forum, will almost immediately start blasting their business opportunity all over the thread and get themselves booted out of the forum for good.

Almost all forums have a strict “no advertising” policy.

That means, no ads, period.

You can ask about a particular programs or products and anticipate in their dialogue…

but don’t do this…

“Hey guys, check out this new web site and don’t forget to sign up under me.”

This type of behavior will never go well in a forum.

Okay, you’re probably puzzled and wonder, if you can’t advertise in a forum, then how can you generate sales in a forum?

Let me explain.

Most forums, though not all, will allow you to have a signature. You can put almost anything you like in your signature (always check the particular forum rules for just what you can do or
cannot do).

Here’s what I usually do for my signature.

I will put my name and then under it I put a brief description of the product that I am promoting. Usually a headline, and then under that, the URL address of the site.

Now, the secret to get people to look at your signature is to build CREDIBILITY.

How?

This is what you can do.

After you sign up for a forum,

===> don’t start your own thread yet.

Look at other threads, especially popular ones. Read the post and if you know the answer, comment on it. Make it a fairly lengthy response so that your answer is very helpful to them.

Repeat this and answer as many posts as you can and do it consistently everyday. Eventually, people will start to recognize you.

Only after that then you start your own posts, but no ads. When I start my own thread, I will usually make a post with my suggestions about how to do something. And most of the time, I will get a lot of compliments for doing it.

If you have some questions or need answers to a question. You can post it in the forum as well.
There’s nothing wrong with that, especially if you’re struck on something.

You do this long enough, you will start to see sales start pouring in.

All you need is 20-30 minutes per day to do all your postings. If you contribute well, the rewards will come, and you won’t have to advertise a thing.
