The beauty about network marketing is that the objections about the industry are the same 50 years ago as it is today.
What has been is what will be,
and what has been done is what will be done,
and there is nothing new under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 (Quote from the Bible)
The Pyramid Scheme - So How do you handle this objection? Very simple.
According to the government, Pyramids are illegal in all fifty states we are involved in a legal network marketing business. The main difference between a Pyramid/Ponzi Scheme/Money Game and a legitimate network marketing business is that people get paid a fee or a commission to recruit or ‘head-hunt’ people into the business.
In network marketing however, you get paid a commission when a product is moved or sold from one merchant (MLM company) to a consumer (someone in your network). Essentially, you are getting paid for people that you’ve referred into your network - it is only good business principles after all.
This dispels the myth that in a network marketing structure, the one on top gets paid the most money but in reality, even the person at the bottom who MOVES the most products can still get paid more than the guy on top!
Here’s the irony:
In a corporate structure, who works the hardest? The wage slave? Or the shareholders/the boss? I would bet you my corporate monkey suit that the wage slave can ‘outwork’ the guys on top at any given week and still get paid far less compared to the boss. And if you want to climb up to the ‘top’, it is going to be very hard because there is only ONE guy at the top of the pyramid.
In network marketing on the other hand, it is actually the REVERSE!

As an upline, you are required to HELP your downline before you can move up to the next level. So in essence, the higher you go, the more people you would have helped along the way!
In the corporate world, you would have to stab your way to the top and take no prisoners. You wouldn’t want people to surpass you or you won’t get your promotion! There’s only room for one at the top!
But in network marketing, would you WANT your downlines to surpass you. You want them to become leaders and you can leverage on their network! So for each person you help, they move UP the reverse pyramid. The more you help, the bigger your reverse pyramid will be and once they are all stable in their business, their business will work FOR you even when you are sitting at the bottom of the ‘pyramid’.

One of the best posts anywhere. Educating people goes ways longer than promotion. An uneducated fool will be just as hard to sell to, with a legal business, as it would be selling a Ponzi scheme to an educated consumer.
Good stuff Khai…
