It is a source of traffic that you just can’t live without - especially now you are living in the 21st century and are part of the Web 2.0 generation.

When you are building a network marketing business, one of the best strategies you can use is to build a blog that targets visitors who are looking for information about your network marketing product.

Gone are the days of doing facials or product demonstrations at your prospects’ houses. There are still opportunities out there that work like this but they are small-fry now. The reason why this method is not effective anymore is because people can so easily Google information the click of a button. Experts are everywhere!

People trust Google so the best thing you can do is to get your site ranking high on Google. How exactly do you do this?

If you combine search engine traffic with blogging, you can easily get traffic within a short period of time – from as fast as 10 minutes to 48 hours. Blogs are incredibly SEO (search engine optimization) friendly, and you can find traffic from Google easily because Google loves blogs as a result of new content getting published all the time.

Another reason why search engine traffic is very important is because the people who are searching for the information are generally very targeted.

So how do you capitalize on search engine marketing?

Here are a few ways:

  • Check out the competition on Google. If you search for the keyword, and the sites have relatively low page rank, you can get your pages ranked on Google easily. You have to make sure you are not going up against heavy competition. If you are, then choose another keyword.
  • Check the search volume. If there is sufficient search volume, target those keywords in your search engine marketing campaign.
  • Write a blog post. On your blog post, make sure you have a keyword density of 1-2% and make sure your words are in the title tag.
  • Optimize your link structure so it is clearer. Use yoururl.com/yourblogpostkeyword rather than yoururl.com/p-123
  • Make sure you tag and categorize your posts according to your keywords. This will increase your chance of getting ranked on the search engines.

One of the most important things you must do to succeed in search engine marketing is to get tons of one-way links. These links act as an authority in Google’s eyes so the more links you have, the better your chances of climbing Google. Submit your blog to lots of blog directories, site directories and do lots of article marketing to get lots of quality links to your site. There are many Web 2.0 sites that also give good quality one way links.

Don’t worry if your sites do not appear immediately on Google’s first page. The most important thing to do is to be consistent and persistent in your marketing efforts.
