Does article marketing still works?
3 days ago I posted a topic in my blog called: Free Traffic Series - Article Marketing
This post walks you through the steps on how to setup your own article marketing campaign.
I have received a few great questions about article submission questions and there is one I need you need to know about.
This comment was sent in by Shawn and he said:
“Thanks for the heads up again Jaz. Like always, great info. I need to inquire and I hope you can confirm.
“I understand that many gurus are saying that we need to send out different sets of articles and we cannot send the same identical article to all the directories, as Google will ignore articles with the same words and keywords.
“Each article sent out to the directories by an Internet Marketer has to be different and unique.
“I was also told that ezinearticles.com will ignore articles with affiliate URLs. It has to be a proper website URL.”
Great question Shawn and here’s my take on this…
Yes you are right that Google will ignore articles with the same words. Usually they will just pick up 1-2 articles and display it in the search engine base on your keywords and they will not display the rest of the same articles.
But… if you are looking for more traffic or visitors and not displaying your articles in the search engines does not mean that you will not receive any traffic from your duplicate articles.
Traffic can also come from the article directories itself (it doesn’t always have to be from the search engines).
In every article directories, there are always readers who will go there to read your articles and click the links in your resource/bio box.
The amount of traffic will depend on the popularity of the article directories.
Now imagine this, if you submit 1 article to Goarticles.com and ArticleDashboard.com and both articles are indexed by Google and appear in the search engine.
You go on to submit the same article to Ezinarticles.com and Google did not pick it up as the article is already store in their databank.
Does this mean that you will not have any traffic?
From the search engine’s perspective, maybe not…
But from the article directories’ perspective, you will receive traffic from those that go to Ezinearticles.com, search for your keywords, read your articles and click the links to go to your website.
Below are the stats for some of my articles.

Now that you understand this, here’s what I do most of the time.
1. Write 10 articles
2. Split half the articles and submit the first 5 articles to the top 5 article directory sites.
3. Submit the second set of 5 articles to the rest of the article directory sites.
4. Repeat the process.
These 4 steps will be good enough for beginners.
If you want more traffic, re-writing your article’s content is a good way to expand your traffic tremendously.
Remember early on when I say that Google will only pick up 1-2 of your articles and ignore the rest (because they are all the same).
If you are able to re-write your articles into different version, and make every single article of yours at least 75% unique.
Google will count them as a unique article by itself.
So if you submit 50 re-write version of your articles to all the article directories, Google will index all 50 version of it and they will show up in the search engines.
This is definitely a good way to boost your website ranking in the search engines.
Hope you enjoy today’s topic.

P.S. I almost forgot the last question from Shawn. Yes Ezinearticles.com do not allow affiliate link to be display in your resource/bio box.
They do not allow affiliate links like this:

The way to get around this is pretty easy.
All you need to do is to purchase a new domain name and forward that new domain to your affiliate link.

Hi Jaz,
Following up on this topic, I would like to enquire how do you get 4000+ views for your articles within a 7day period? Are they mainly traffic from the articles itself or are they organic traffic?
What’s the magic? Keyword optimization? Title? How do we go about all that? Please advise.
They are mainly traffic from Ezinearticles itself.
The magic… do a good keyword research.
Include the keyword in your title, 1st paragraph and a scatter over your article content.
Also make sure that your resource box is interesting enough for people to want to click on it.
Hi Jaz,
A wonderful idea never think of or most of do not know.
Thanks
Hi Jaz,
Article marketing is a very overlooked resource that is still one of the top ways to get your programs or websites seen along with some really decent targeted traffic and for very little or no cost what so ever.
I did want to bring something to you and your readers attention that you may not even know about which can help take your article marketing even a step above the rest. There is an article directory which has been around for a while that has been implementing some totally new techniqes and aspects to article marketing that have never been seen or done before.
We all know that which articles which are seen on directories have advertising on these pages. This is a powerful tool for the directories themselves as a resource to sell or use for their own purposes. With this new directory concept, the authors can actually moderate the articles and rate them earning points which can then be applied to purchase the control of these ad spots on the article pages. Now, not only does one get their article in a quality directory but, the author has the ability to sell or use these ad spots to their own advantage. Very powerful tool and no other directory offers anything like this. You have to see this one.
Simply go to the link I provided and grab a free account to get more details. Pass it on to others so they can get the information themselves and take advantage of this really unique and powerful article directory too. There are of course some upgrade options which are really nice you can check out. I’m sure you will enjoy this as much as I along with many others are at this time. Take care and have a wonderful day.
Enjoy

Hi Jaz, great information here you have. I have a question, actually a few of them but i want to ask you this first so that i will not be confuse later on.
“Now that you understand this, here’s what I do most of the time.

Do you mean write an original article and rewrite it into another 9 different unique versions of the same keywords? Or do you mean just write 10 original articles base on the same keywords? I have a feeling that you are refering to the earlier one which is the rewriting method. I am thinking about what are the pros and cons of rewriting 9 different versions of the same article (75% unique) and writing 10 original articles base on the same keyword. To me actually they are the same in theory (making the articles look original so that the search engine will not deem it as a duplicate content) but just different methods.
I am using the rewriting method and most of the time, i could not get the 75% uniqueness, the result always ranges around 30% to 50% uniqueness. Do you have any softwares or ideas that you can share so that the rewriting task can be easier handled?
Hope to hear from you soon. =)

Hi Jaz,
Thanks for your feedback. Regarding keyword research, what is your opinion on the following that we should look:-
a. lowest limit of google search volume
b. highest ceiling of competing pages
So many opinions out there, hope to get some clarity from you. thank you.
Great Advise! As I newbie (2mos) I am trying to learn and do as much as I can without spending $thousands like other are doing.
All the best,
mauione
Hi Jaz, did i misread something? I never see any tools in your reply. Anyway, thanks for your great advice and i will stick to the rewriting method and keep it at 75% unique and then submit them to the top 100 article directories (of course only if i can find that many top notch article directories).
