Beware Of Downline Pinching

image When you are building your MLM business, interaction with side lines or cross lines are necessary to build your business. After all, you are all part of the same team and it is important to help one another because your upline might be busy sometimes.

However, there are certain distributors you must be very, very careful when you deal with them. Here’s why:

Not everyone who is in MLM might be there to help you all the time. They could have their own hidden agendas when they approach you or your downlines. They might appear helpful and sincere but their motives remain unknown…

For all you know, they could be building their own list of contacts that might annoy your downlines at best or drag them out of your network at worst (could be line pinching within the company or getting them to join another opportunity outside the company)… and that is not something you will want happening in your network.

Here are some signs to watch out for:

(1) When your sideline is spending an inordinate amount of time with your people, building friendships and influencing them with their own ideas that are dubious in nature, they are probably having their own agenda. If your downlines start spending too much time with these people, you have to be careful.

(2) Beware of sidelines that are talking bad about the leaders, the company or the product. There is a fine line between constructive criticism and disloyalty. It is a sure sign that their hearts have pulled out and they are preying on your people as well.

(3) Line pinching is quite common in network marketing and it is even common for an upline to sponsor a person (directly under them) who was originally prospected by their own downlines as well. If you see your sidelines talking to your prospects too much, make sure you keep an eye on your prospects… otherwise, they would join someone else the next time you see them. Not everyone will follow the code of ethics outlined by the company so make sure every single member in your team are clear about how it works.

(4) Beware of bribery. Some unscrupulous individuals can even ‘pinch’ lines or prospects by enticing them with rank. What this means is that they are even willing to sponsor people by ‘bribing’ them with free products, free sponsorship, free spillover, etc…

At the end of the day, loyalty is the key to any long term MLM business. If you are not loyal to your downlines, they will be here today and in another MLM company tomorrow.
