Building downlines is as easy as you want it to be and as difficult as you want it to be.
People are normally petrified of talking to other people when it comes to network marketing, and I totally understand that because I was a shy person. I didn’t have many friends in school and I never excelled in public speaking. But why does a person who has bad grades and poor social skills like me, can achieve success in network marketing in such a short period of time? There is an ‘easier’ way when it comes to building downlines and let me share with you how I stumbled upon this ‘secret’.
It doesn’t take rocket science to build a downline, you just need to understand what people are all about and learn to give them what they want in life.
Every human being have their ‘hot button’ – it could be some burning desire or something that makes them ‘tick’. People make the mistake of pitching their network marketing business in such a way that they only talk about one thing… money.
Now don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with money. After all, the LOVE of money is the root of all even and not money in and of itself. Money is neutral and you have to find out how the ‘money’ solves the problem of the prospect in many ways.
Someone would consider joining a network marketing business because they want to prove to their parents or their spouse that they are a capable person. When you pitch your network marketing opportunity to them, ‘sell’ them a dream in such a way that it touches their inner most desires and let them know that the opportunity is a means to an end. In this case – proving to others that they can succeed.
There are other cases which only a certain type of money can buy which are time freedom. Suppose a person has a lot of money but a lot of commitments. If you want to get them to sign up, you need to convince them that they are not getting a second job but rather a source of walk away income that makes money for them even while they are sleeping. You want to help them to regain their freedom.
All in all, you must take your time to understand people and how they function – otherwise, network marketing is a lifeless, insincere business and you will not gain success when it comes to building downlines.

Absolutely 100% correct Jaz. Awesome article. Too many people pitch how much ‘money’ they can make with their opportunity and promote from a standpoint of greed which puts the focus on them and not on their prospect. By focusing on the prospects needs, wants and desires you actually do 2 things.
1. You are in fact finding their ‘hot button’ as you mentioned. This allows you to build your presentation around their hot button and increased your chances of that prospect joining you.
2. It separates you from everyone else who focus’s on the ‘money’. Instead you take the time to dig and find out their deepest concern which is something most people do not do effectively. By doing this you also build Rapport and Attraction which ultimately leaves that nice warm feeling inside them and they are again more likely to join you than that other guy who’s thinking about all that cashola!
Ps. Money is a good thing. We all need it. Its right up there with Oxygen!
