13 - Old School Network Marketing Tools Still WorksIf you asked me ten years ago, even five years ago if old school network marketing tools still worked in the industry the answer would definitely be, YES. I’d even go as far as saying all the way up until 2006 that things were going well. However, today you’ll find that even though more people are looking for that home business to supplement their incomes the media has helped many to become more informed of scams and illegal programs. In short, everyone is a hundred times more skeptical now then anytime before.

Take for instance the old phone call with the sponsor technique. After creating a warm list (family and friends) you begin calling them one by one telling them what you can about a program you just joined and then all the sudden the fake, pit bullish, sponsor gets involved and tells them all about a program you know nothing about. Sure it used to work back then, but now, no. Because people have come to realize that even though you have invested money in a particular program you have put trust in your sponsor. Your family and friends have no idea who this person is, and since you really don’t have the expertise about the program they have to put their trust in your sponsor and not you. Just doesn’t work well anymore.

Now it is important to have a voice mail setup for your business, any business for that matter. Along with business cards and your own email account with either yahoo messenger, skype, hotmail, AIM, or frankly as many as you can have because your potential prospects may only be able to have one of these. Again in this day and age these are essential for any business let alone network marketing.

One thing many people today fail to realize is that everything is being done on the Internet. Even with family and friends it is much easier to communicate online then meeting each other dropping off the brochures and other stationary that is so old school. Even the audio cds and video dvds are becoming obsolete. Why Because with the Internet you can upload a short video and either send it through an email or upload it to your website for all to see. Its just easier to sit in front of the computer and get clients as opposed to going out finding them.

Overall its just outdated and part of the reason that many people need to build a rapport with another person online. Something that didn’t have to happen over months at a time 2-10 years ago. Not as much anyways. So if you do plan on becoming successful using network marketing tools its time to throw away those dusty tools and upgrade. There is plenty of information for you to build your knowledge about running a successful business on the Internet. You will just need to set aside the time to learn. If you can do that you are already ahead of 80% of everyone else.

    I disagree.

Many times we on the internet get spoiled especially if we’ve had a lot of success and made a lot of money online.

Old school methods still work extremely well.

My up-line can barely type an email yet last month he made $9,000 part time from his network marketing business. I would say maybe me and one other person in his organization does any type of internet prospecting. The rest of his organization is completely old school, warm market, DVDs and audios, conference calls, etc.

In fact he was recognized as one of the top executives in the company for November and December for the number of people he personally recruited and help to get promoted in those months and he doesn’t do anything online. In fact, I ghostwrite his emails for him to his organization!

One of my guys who interestingly enough does do most of his prospecting online would have NEVER joined MLM online. In fact, he use to make fun of people in MLM. Do you want to know how I recruited him? I went to his store, played a DVD for him, had him speak to my upline. He asked me does the company really pay that type of money? I told him how much I made the previous week and he signed up.

The ONLY reason why he signed up was because of the DVD and because of the relationship he had with me.

So don’t discount old school. Just because it might not be our preferred method of prospecting for us internet’ers, that doesn’t mean you can’t make a huge income from people in your organization who will feel comfortable using old school techniques.
